PROTAMIN Cu is a biostimulant based on copper complexed with amino acids obtained through enzymatic hydrolysis. This process preserves the structure and functionality of amino acids, favouring their rapid uptake and action.
PROTAMIN Cu matches the strengthening action of copper with the fortifying effect of the amino acids thus increasing the plant’s vigour and enhancing its nutritional status.
Key Benefits
- Strengthens cell walls and plant tissues
- Enhances copper uptake and translocation
- Enables reduction in the quantity of copper
Key Components
Proteinated copper (Cu)
Mode of Action
PROTAMIN Cu supplies copper (Cu) complexed with amino acids derived from enzymatic hydrolysis, a process that does not alter their structure and biological action. PROTAMIN Cu:
- improves the plant’s nutritional status: it prevents and treats copper (Cu) deficiencies and stimulates primary metabolism, thus allowing the plant to rapidly overcome the stress due to copper (Cu) application;
- enhances the natural plant vigour and tolerance to biotic stress, thanks to the action of copper (Cu).
Function of copper:
- Copper plays an important role in the physiology of the plant. It is involved in the biosynthesis of several compounds such as enzymes, transporters and lignin, which is essential to strengthen cell walls. Copper is also a major constituent of the reproductive structures of the flower (ovaries and anthers) and determines plant fertility.
Function of amino acids:
- Amino acids represent a source of organic nitrogen essential for the plant, and play multiple roles in metabolism and growth. Amino acids are the constituent blocks for protein biosynthesis, which are both structural elements of the cell and catalyzers of many reactions involved in tissue formation and development. Some amino acids are precursors of natural growth promoters, such as auxins and polyamines, which regulate cell division and expansion. Some others are involved in photosynthesis, energy production and also in the plant’s response to environmental stresses.
Compatibility
The product can be mixed with all common formulations. A simple mixture test to check compatibility is advisable.
